New revoke message feature, appears in Whatsapp iOS beta version.
Whatsapp has seen a plethora of features like, GIF support, end-to-end encryption of messages, text in bold italics e.t.c in the last few years. Just not long Whatsapp started supporting video calls, now Facebook-owned messaging platform will let us edit and delete sent messages as well.
The new feature was presented on twitter by WABetaInfo in beta messaging application for iOS that brings a “revoke” button.

Revoking messages feature can delete messages that are already read by the recipient (actually)— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) December 14, 2016
Before when a message is deleted after sent, it only disappear from the sender’s application but not the reciever’s. But the new feature which is still in the beta stage has helped solved a particular problem of mistakenly sending a message to the wrong contact. All you have to do is to tap and hold the message and select “Revoke” button, the message is then retracted from the recipient application similar to the “Retracted” feature on BBM.

Users can also retract photos and videos sent as displayed by the tweet by WABetaInfo. The feature is already available for beta version 2.17.1.869 on iOS alone, but is possible to hit the stable version of Android & iOS early 2017. Usually WhatsApp’s takes sometime before it rolls out new features to all users.
Remember that you won't be able to edit very old messages.
You'll be able to edit only recent messages (about some days probably). https://t.co/tdOjhma9oo— WABetaInfo (@WABetaInfo) December 14, 2016
The popular Facebook messaging app Whatsapp has crossed a billion users milestone, which makes it arguably the world’s biggest instant messaging app. Whatsapp is fast closing up on Facebook’s number of users. In India alone the messaging app has over 150 million active users.
The new feature is going to bring good news to the messaging platform as sometimes users mistakenly send information to the wrong users and are left to bite fingers and curse their lucks, due to the inability to retract the message before the receiver sees it. But this update would be the perfect savior.
We are going to wait & see how soon WhatsApp launches this feature for all.
