Samsung is planning to launch the new Galaxy Note 7 on August 19th in China. The device with the model number SM-N9300 listed on TENAA has revealed the device to feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of built-in storage.
Earlier when Samsung confirmed that the Note 7 would only have 4GB RAM, many of us were disappointed since rumors had been flying around for months that the phone would have 6GB RAM. It didn’t help Samsung’s case that far less expensive devices such as the OnePlus 3 include 6GB of RAM.
Now we now for a fact that Samsung is indeed planning to launch a Galaxy Note 7 variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, but sadly it won’t be coming to most regions.
Samsung Mobile chief DJ Koh recently confirmed that Samsung is actively working on releasing this new Note 7 variant in the Chinese market since many brands in that region put a heavy emphasis on having the best numbers on paper.
Unfortunately, this new variant will come at a high cost. The standard Note 7 retails for upwards of $800 in the US, but this new variant will allegedly cost over $900. If we do ever see this variant launch outside of the Chinese market, we can only hope Samsung will trim down that cost a bit.
